About Facebook Marketplace…

We respect Facebook — it's the default for a reason. But for an electric vehicle? Here's what sellers can run into.

Your electric car gets buried under used furniture within a day.

A general marketplace doesn't sort by category seriously. By tomorrow you're far down the feed, between a kettle and a free couch.

Offers above asking, sight unseen.

Within the hour: offers over your price, no inspection, "I'll send my shipping agent". It's a scam.

Your contact details are out in the open.

Expect a "last price?" at 6am and messages from people who never read the listing.

No range. No battery health. No charging details.

Buyers ask the same EV questions again and again because the listing format has nowhere to put the answers. There's a better way.

Frunkery: free to list, none of the chaos. Every listing reviewed before it goes live — the home of electric motoring.

Built only for electric vehicles. Free for private sellers.

Frunkery is a new, small team. We want sellers and buyers to actually succeed here — not to maximize listing fees. That's why listing is free and commission is zero. Questions? Write to hello@frunkery.com.

Zero commission

You keep every dollar of the sale price. You and the buyer agree the sale directly — Frunkery takes no cut.

Scam inquiries filtered

Every message sent through your listing is checked for scam and spam patterns before it reaches you.

Electrified only

Fully electric first, plug-in hybrids and hybrids welcome — no gas-only cars. Range, battery and charging facts come first.

Why Frunkery

Four reasons to list your EV here.

A general car site treats an EV like any other car. Frunkery is built around what EV buyers actually ask about.

Range, battery and charging up front

The facts EV buyers look for first are not buried at the bottom of the page. A well-documented battery helps your listing stand out.

Scam inquiries filtered

Scam and spam messages are filtered before they reach you, and we check in with genuine buyers by email after a few days.

Free to list. Zero commission.

No listing fee and no cut of the sale. You keep every dollar of the price you agree with your buyer.

Ready for Google, ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity

Buyers now ask AI what to buy. The moment your listing goes live, we send it to search indexes and open it up to AI assistants, so it can come up when they ask.

Common questions

Questions EV sellers ask.

If you don't see your question, write to hello@frunkery.com.

How much does it cost to list my EV?
Nothing. Listing on Frunkery is free for private sellers, and there is no commission when you sell.
Does Frunkery take a commission when my EV sells?
No. Frunkery takes zero commission. You and the buyer agree the price between you, and you keep all of it.
Who can list on Frunkery?
Private sellers in the United States can list any electrified car, SUV or truck: fully electric, plug-in hybrid, hybrid or hydrogen. Frunkery does not list gas- or diesel-only cars.
What should I include in an EV listing?
The things EV buyers ask about first. Battery health evidence: a battery report from the manufacturer or a service center, or a photo of the range the car shows at a full charge. The range you really get in everyday driving. Which charging equipment comes with the car (mobile connector, adapters, a home charger if it is included) and which charging port it has. Service records and any open recalls. Remaining battery or powertrain warranty, if you know it. Title status — clean, rebuilt or salvage, and whether there is a loan on the car. Plus clear photos of the outside, the interior, the wheels and tires, and the charge port.
How do I prove battery health?
There is no single standard yet, so show what you have. Some manufacturers and service centers can run a battery health check and give you a report. Otherwise, photograph the dashboard range at a known charge level and state the miles on the odometer. Be straightforward about it — buyers trust a listing that shows the numbers.
It's free — won't that attract scammers?
Every private listing is reviewed before it goes live. Every message sent through your listing is checked for scam and spam patterns, and the ones that fail are held back before they reach you. No filter is perfect, so stay alert: be wary of anyone who offers full price without seeing the car, will not talk on the phone, wants to send a "shipping agent", or asks you to refund an overpayment.
How does payment work?
Payment is between you and the buyer. Frunkery does not hold, process or guarantee funds. Agree a payment method you can verify — for example, meeting at the buyer's bank to watch a cashier's check being issued, or waiting until a bank wire has fully cleared in your account. Do not hand over the keys or the title until the money is confirmed by your own bank.
How does the title transfer work?
Frunkery does not handle the title or registration. The transfer follows your state's DMV (or motor vehicle agency) process, which usually means signing the title over to the buyer, a bill of sale, and reporting the sale to the state. If there is a loan on the car, contact your lender first, because they hold the title until it is paid off. Rules differ by state, so check your state DMV's website. This is general information, not legal advice.
Where should I meet a buyer?
Meet in daylight in a public place — many police departments offer a marked safe-exchange area. Bring someone with you, check the buyer's driver's license before a test drive, and go along on the drive. Arrive with enough charge for a proper test drive.
Will my listing show up on Google, ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity?
It's built to. The moment your listing goes live, we send it to search indexes and open it up to ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, with structured data, clear titles and fast pages they can read. We can't promise a ranking or a recommendation — nobody honestly can.
Can I edit or remove my listing after it is published?
Yes. Sign in to your dashboard at any time to update the price, description or photos, to mark the EV as sold, or to take the listing down.
I'm a dealer. Can I list on Frunkery?
Yes. If you sell EVs as a business — a dealership or an independent lot — see the Frunkery for business page.
