Chris is a good man who does honest work. I had an issue with my hybrid replacement battery for my 2013 Prius. Still under warranty with Chris, he took care of it without hesitation or excuses. Work was done professionally and swiftly. Got my car back within a few days. I highly recommend Chris and his shop to everyone who needs this service. Thanks Chris!

Took a hybrid vehicle for Pre-purchase inspection. Owner knows hybrid vehicles like back of his hand. Dealt with me punctually and professionally, despite some annoying construction going on directly in front of his business. Will return if we end up purchasing a hybrid. Great!

I had a very concerning experience with AAA Hybrid Battery Repair San Diego and would not recommend this shop. I brought my car in because of a check engine issue. Chris specifically told me the vehicle was not safe to drive and needed to stay at the shop while waiting for parts. My car remained there for about 10 days. During that time, I monitored my vehicle through an installed tracker and observed that it was driven at least 5 times without my permission, including trips of approximately 11 and 15 miles. One of those trips involved my car being kept overnight at a location away from the shop. When I asked Chris about this, he initially denied using the vehicle, then said he did not remember. Only after I showed detailed tracker data (timestamps, locations, mileage) did he admit that he had used my car. His explanation was that there was not enough parking near the shop, so he drove my vehicle elsewhere. This was completely unacceptable, especially because I had been told the vehicle was unsafe to drive and that driving it could damage the hybrid battery further. Other concerns: - I was asked to sign and pay before I was allowed to inspect or test drive my car. - I was not provided proper documentation for the repair, such as proof of the part purchased, part numbers, or a clear cost breakdown. - A $160 diagnostic fee was included even though I completed the repair at the same shop. - Chris controlled access to my own vehicle by holding the keys and limiting my ability to inspect it freely. - The car was returned dirty after being left outside. After I raised these concerns, there was no apology. The only adjustment I was able to get was removal of the diagnostic fee after pushing back. Based on my experience, this raised serious concerns about unauthorized use of customer vehicles, transparency, and professionalism. I would strongly advise others to be cautious.

Wife’s Prius needed a hybrid battery. Opted for the Toyota battery over the aftermarket. Googled, and found AAA Hybrid battery 2 miles away. Chris was responsive and knowledgeable, in explaining the options. Took a few days to get the battery from nor-cal, but the overall experience was very positive. Car is back on the road, running great!

Chris rebuilt a battery in my Ford Escape Hybrid several years ago. On two ocassions since then I called him for a consultation. Once when the engine was replaced and more recently when the car would not run after an extended time without being driven. His advice was critical in getting back on the road. Didn't ask for money. Gave great insight for free. Every experience with AAA Hybrid and Chris has been excellent.
