Called to check if they could rebuild a part for me. Woman who answered the phone was very rude and dismissive, then hung up on me. I can't recommend them.

AES served the shop where I was working in the early 90s, and I still use them for parts and component service. They have taken care of my needs for my customer cars, and from my daily Ford to my old Porsche. The work is done in house by a person with a name and a face. Places like this are a treasure and need to be preserved. The "two star" review: If this person called three times and was immediately put on hold, it was likely because AES was swamped and they could not take on one more thing at that time. 8/26/25 Edit: They are no longer in Bloomington. The original equipment starter and alternator on your machine is ALWAYS the best option versus a cheap new one or a poor-quality overseas rebuild. Have these guys fix it the correct way! This is a great option if you can’t afford a new one or a new one is unavailable. It’s also nice to have a spare if it’s an important piece of equipment, like a work vehicle. They helped me out today with a part, which I don’t think they would normally sell, but I think since I knew what I was doing he sold it to me. The rebuild went pretty smoothly, but in the future, I’ll probably just bring them my alternator instead of buying a rebuild kit. Honestly, with the time involved, the price of rebuild kits and the possibility of screwing it up worse, its your best bet just to bring it here first👍 I’ve been coming here for over 15 years and have never been disappointed, and will continue to come here until the day they close.

I had an issue with a high output alternator I ordered from another state. It was not right from the start, and they didn't want to stand by their warranty, so I couldn't use a 580.00$ alternator for a year and a half a friend told me about Auto Electric. Now I have a new resource. All I can say is Outstanding Work!

These guys were polite and professional.Turned out my starter solenoid in record time and price was right in line. Cannot say enough good things about them. Old fashioned service in today's world. OUTSTANDING,will be my only place and have bragged about them to my car buds too!
