Steve is absolutely incredible at what he does! Tesla quoted me $4200 to replace my whole air suspension system, all for a leak they couldn’t find. Steve and his team went above and beyond to diagnose my issue (leaking control arm ~$1300), perform a coolant delete (necessary for P100D), replace a worn bushing he saw while he was working, and have it done in under two days. He let me use a loaner since I was coming from San Diego, sent me pictures and videos of the entire process, and was a stand-up guy. I got all of this done for less than $5000, and he earned my trust and my business. If you have a Tesla, SC01 or not, go to Steve!!!!

I can't say enough good things about Energized-EV. If you own a Tesla—especially an older Model S—and need someone who actually understands these cars beyond simply replacing whatever the computer points to, this is the shop I would recommend. My 2016 Model S P90D was towed to the Tesla Service Center completely unable to power up. Tesla diagnosed a low-isolation condition and told me the rear drive unit failed their isolation test. Their recommended repair included replacing the rear drive unit, A/C compressor, flushing the A/C system, and related work. Tesla's total estimate was $10,180.37, including $5,200 just for the remanufactured rear drive unit. I was skeptical because Tesla had actually told me previously that this same drive unit had "marginal isolation issues." I declined replacing it at that time, replaced the A/C compressor instead, and then drove the car for approximately 28,000 more miles without a drive-unit replacement. This time I decided to get a second opinion and had the car towed to Energized-EV. I'm extremely glad I did. This wasn't an easy diagnosis. Energized-EV replaced the failed A/C compressor, continued troubleshooting when the repair uncovered another electrical issue, went into the high-voltage system, removed/reinstalled the HV battery and front HV junction box as necessary, checked the fuses, and found/replaced the 40A fuse for the A/C compressor circuit. They actually diagnosed the problem instead of throwing thousands of dollars of parts at the car. The result? My Tesla is fixed and driving again—with the SAME rear drive unit still installed. Tesla Service Center: Over $10K estimated repair Energized-EV: $3,400.00 actual repair That's a difference of almost $6,800, and I didn't have to replace a $5,200 drive unit to get the car back on the road. What impressed me most was their persistence. When the repair didn't initially go exactly as expected, they didn't just give up or start recommending increasingly expensive components. They kept troubleshooting the high-voltage system until they figured it out. I also appreciate how communicative and straightforward they were throughout the process. It's difficult enough dealing with a disabled Tesla, especially when you're staring at a five-figure repair estimate. Finding an independent shop willing to actually diagnose the vehicle rather than just replace everything on an estimate made a huge difference. Five stars without hesitation. Energized-EV saved me thousands of dollars and got my Model S back on the road. Before approving a massive Tesla Service Center repair—especially for an out-of-warranty Tesla—I strongly recommend getting a second opinion from these guys. Thank you Energized-EV. You earned a customer for life!

Steve and his team are amazing! Tesla wanted a ton of $$ to fix my broken sub-frame and a 2 month wait...Energized-EV knocked this out in 2 days, just amazing. Their attention to detail is beyond awesome, they even matched the coolant module with a red one 🙂 Car feels new again. If you haven't done the coolant delete on your Model S with big motor, it's only a matter of time before the coolant leaks past the inner seal and destroys the giant copper motor stater in your motor. These guys even do the hi-voltage battery rebuilds and replacement! My go too from now on. The best part, YOU GET TO TALK TO A LIVE PERSON AND A COOL TOUR OF THE SHOP. I am beyond happy, the car drives better than when Tesla serviced it, lol.

First and foremost, I want to genuinely thank Steve for his outstanding service, communication, and professionalism throughout the entire process. This was actually the second time I had to replace the drive unit in my Tesla P85. The first replacement was done by Tesla, and unfortunately this second failure happened just outside the warranty period. Needless to say, I was incredibly frustrated and honestly wasn't sure what to do with the car. I came across Steve through a Tesla owners forum and decided to give him a call after seeing so many positive reviews. Before speaking with him, I had already called five other shops that claimed to specialize in Teslas, and Steve was the only person who actually answered the phone. From the very first conversation, I knew I had found the right place. He spent a significant amount of time listening to my situation, answering every question I had, and explaining everything in a way that made complete sense. He never once tried to sell me on anything or pressure me into making a decision. He was simply honest, straightforward, and incredibly knowledgeable. In fact, he confirmed a lot of the research I had spent years reading about online, which gave me even more confidence. I trusted him so much after that first phone call that I literally had my Tesla towed to his shop without ever seeing the facility in person. Looking back, that probably sounds a little crazy, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions I could have made. The turnaround time was unbelievably fast, the pricing was exactly what we discussed, and there were absolutely no hidden fees or surprise charges. What really impressed me, though, was how much he genuinely cared about the car. While it was in the shop, he noticed a few small maintenance items and even replaced my cabin air filter, which I had admittedly neglected for way too long. He also pointed out a couple of other minor issues, and when I picked up the car, they had already been taken care of. I'm not saying you should expect free repairs outside the scope of your service, but that level of attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond is incredibly rare these days. Teslas are completely different from traditional cars—they're packed with technology, and you really want someone who understands them inside and out. Steve clearly does. He's an engineer in every sense of the word, and it absolutely shows in his work. The fact that we're both Cal Poly alumni definitely helped build some trust too! If you're looking for someone who is honest, incredibly knowledgeable, communicates exceptionally well, charges fair prices, and truly stands behind his work, I honestly can't recommend Steve enough. It's rare to find someone who combines technical expertise with this level of customer service, and I'm extremely grateful I found him.

I recently had an outstanding experience at Energized EV in Pomona, CA, and I can’t recommend them highly enough—easily a 5-star shop for Tesla owners! With my warranty on the large drive unit (LDU) expiring in just 5 months, I wanted a professional assessment to check for any signs of coolant intrusion that could support a warranty claim. The team performed a thorough inspection and confirmed the LDU was in excellent shape with no issues present. I proceeded with their specialized coolant delete service, which reroutes coolant to help prevent future intrusion problems. The work was done expertly, and I’m thrilled with the preventive upgrade as this is a long term keeper. What really impressed me was their brand-new, larger facility—it’s impeccably clean, well-organized, and clearly designed with high standards in mind. You can tell they take pride in their workspace, which reflects the quality of their work. Communication was prompt, professional, and completely transparent from start to finish. Pricing was competitive and straightforward—no surprises, just fair value for specialized Tesla expertise. Drop-off and pick-up were seamless and hassle-free. They completed the job exactly within the promised time frame and kept me updated with plenty of detailed pictures along the way. Beyond the LDU work, they conducted a comprehensive check of multiple systems and evaluated the overall health of the entire battery system—true thoroughness that gave me real peace of mind. The owner, Steve, is a genuine engineer who pays incredible attention to detail. His knowledge and hands-on approach make all the difference in this niche field. If you’re dealing with Tesla high-voltage systems, drive units, or battery concerns, go see the team at Energized EV. Top-tier service from true professionals—highly recommended! Pro Tip: check out his Tesla Roadster when you’re there!
