As of right now you have 24 five star reviews in your entire business history. Seeing as you're the only electrical provider in Fairbanks since forever, that's not a really good sign. My December bill was $1,258, it's a given my furnace went out and blew up a bunch of my heat pipe so I was burning pellets by the pallet during a historicly record low winter. Then I was informed that apparently your power plant runs pretty much off of the same fuel that heats my home. Don't you think running a power grid on heating fuel is a little ignorant? Where does all the coal that stops out there go? As much as you've been getting paid to supply the power you haven't done much to make it more cost effective. Cost of living here is already ridiculous, you are driving people out. I see more and more professional people leaving every year. I asked for you to check my meter and basically got told to go do stuff to my self, "There is nothing wrong with the meter, it's digital and connected to the system, if it had a problem we would know from the record". But according to my records I paid $188-$280 until the deep freeze hit, now it is $295 in summer with near nothing running. I sent my family south already in preparation for your price hikes. You need a federal audit.

Constant outages, ridiculous prices, zero customer service besides a bot. Yep, that's a local monopoly for you, I'd give 0 stars if I could.

Absolutely the worst people I’ve had to deal with… no issues for 3 years until today. They were scheduled to come clear cut some trees around power lines. I asked to speak to someone before they cut to mitigate any damages to my property and yard. They didn’t contact me until they had already cut and messed up my property… thanks for nothing you idiots. If a customer asks for some communication before you cut their property maybe you should call them back.

GVEA sent out a crew to my house to pull my electrical service, so I could cut some trees down from my right of way and upgrade my service while I was at it. They showed up on time and had my line removed quickly. The crew was very professional, courteous, and helpful. Scheduling the maintenance was a breeze and the project coordinator/ inspector was very helpful and easy to work with. I know GVEA gets a bad rap because of the cost of electricity, but I will say that in dealing with them many times now I've never had a bad experience and figured it was due time I give them a well deserved shout out.
