Maxat Hybrid Repair

I had an amazing experience here about 3 months ago where my shifter gave out. Eddie was super sweet and accommodating- and they were able to fix my car during their once over, so all I paid was the initial discovery charge. Fast forward a few months, and I needed an unrelated issue fixed. I called them, got a reasonable quote, and brought my car in. Nick helped me. They ended up returning my car same day, no work/no charge because they couldn't do the work, and needed new fluid. Nick said they needed time to ruminate on the problem. It's an EV with codes, but fine. I was called back a day or so later, once they located the necessary fluids at a nearby shop. In that timeframe, my original issue returned. My old quote was amended without my consent from $300ish to $500ish, because this fluid was more expensive. I asked if they would add their service charge to see if we could clean the parts associated with my original issue, and that I may then be able to come back in a month for the second, more expensive repair. Nick was rude on the phone, and doubled down on being rude. After dealing with Eddie, this was appaling service. I ended up calling a dealership, and was quoted less than Maxat quotes for both repairs- $295 to their $300/$500 fluids exchange. I'm super bummed because I would rather support an independent shop, but after dealing with a man that opens his conversation with "I hate to sound like an asshole, BUT..." I'll keep searching.

These folks have been amazing. A few years back, they replaced a head gasket in my Prius, a few days ago they replaced the battery. There is no place in Sacramento or north of it that can provide better quality service for hybrid vehicles than Maxat. I plan to bring my Prius back down in the next two months to get some work done on the suspension that it needs. These guys are the absolute best. If you own any type of hybrid vehicle and you’re not using them, you are losing money.

Best shop available for hybrid in NorCal. Best work, fastest and most affordable shop for hybrids. I had a complete battery restoration, complete front suspension rebuilt for half of what the dealer quoted. And at least 1,500 cheaper than any other option. From tow truck to picking up my complete car was under 4 days and I think that's just cuz I couldn't pick it up on the third day. Eddie's the man. Great advice. Great help. He even saved me over $200 on the tow to the shop by using one of his contacts. Couldn't recommend the shop higher. Literally perfect customer service and mechanical know-how in my situation.
