We had an excellent informational talk with Chris Nelson today. Our 2012 Audi has been damaged in the bumper & back quarter panel. Apparently that has caused the car to be labelled totaled. My husband had gotten a quote in June from Chris....today we visited to ask more detailed questions. Chris also owns an Audi. He was very knowledgeable about what we are experiencing and trying to discern whether it's worth being fixed at this time. Chris took time walking us thru the options, and we felt very grateful he brought up some good options for us to consider. We appreciated his experience and honesty about our dilemma. We left knowing we'd be more than comfortable doing business with his firm if we decide to keep the car. Thanks, Chris. You really went over & above with customer service help @ Crash Champions. Best regards, Ruth & Don Jones

Don't listen to insurance and steer clear of this place. We brought our Volvo in for minor bumper repair based on the insurance recommendation and had the worst experience. After drop, off they could not give us an estimate when the car would be ready for pickup. It took Chris several days to respond to a couple email check-ins on an ETA, and after a couple weeks he still didn't have a clue. After about a month, he Finally said it would be ready on Friday and then we called on Friday and they said it wasn't ready and the car had to sit over the weekend. Then we pick up the vehicle and drive home only to notice the back wing window was shattered - mostly likely while sitting there over the weekend. Chris said it was likely an attempted break in while parked in their lot. Later, Chris changed his story and said it must have happened after we picked up and somebody tried to break in, though I contacted them right after we noticed it about an hour after pickup - the car had never been parked and left after pickup. They clearly broke the window and won't admit it. Don't take your car here - they are dishonest and have the worst customer service. At least the bumper is okay, I think.

I would highly recommend trusting Crash Champions to repair your vehicle. Tripp, the General Manager, was excellent to work with and kept me up to date on my vehicles progress. Diana at the front desk made drop off / pick up a breeze. The workmanship for body & paint work was top notch and matches perfectly.

If you don’t care about your time, money, or being treated with basic respect — go here. Otherwise, find somewhere else. And here is the full story: I dropped my car off on February 2nd for a hood replacement. I got it back on March 19th — 45 days later. First, look at the photo I attached. That’s the car at the crash scene. A dent on the hood — that’s the only actual damage. No structural damage, no sensor issues, everything mechanical working fine. The hood needed replacing, sure, but that’s a straightforward job. Keep that in mind as you read the rest. The estimates alone were a red flag in hindsight: insurance estimated $3,500, the shop’s initial estimate was $5,400, and their final number sent to insurance was over $12,500. Nearly 2.5x their own initial estimate — for a hood replacement. Parts were supposed to arrive February 17th, with two weeks of work after that. I heard nothing. When I finally called in early March, I was told they were “still waiting for parts.” Only after pushing harder did I learn the truth: they had received the parts, painted the hood, then broke a component during installation and had to reorder. They never called me. I found out myself. From that point it was the same pattern: I had to call every few days just to get any information, and every time I was told “we’re prioritizing your car.” Every week there was a new excuse — and at one point they actually blamed a single day of light snow for what turned out to be a two-week delay. When I picked up the car, the rep was showing me photos on his computer to walk me through the work done — and one of those photos showed the bumper being painted. I asked when it was taken, expecting it to be sometime in February shortly after the parts arrived. He claimed he didn’t know how to find the date. I showed him how, and the photo was dated mid-March — just days before I got the car back. They had the parts since February 17th and didn’t touch them for nearly a month, and I only found out because he accidentally showed me the evidence himself. The car went to Mercedes for calibration on Wednesday March 18th at 4 PM, came back Thursday morning, and nobody called me. I had to call them to find out it was ready. The most frustrating part wasn’t even the delays — it was that they never once gave me an honest timeline. It was always “we’ll try to have it by end of week,” “maybe tomorrow,” “if there’s no snow.” I had no idea how long this would actually take, so all my plans, travel bookings, and schedule were constantly up in the air. If they had just been upfront once and said “this will take another two weeks,” I could have planned accordingly, booked flights later, or arranged a rental from the start. Instead they strung me along with vague promises week after week. On the compensation side: the GM Tripp Matthes verbally offered a rental car on Monday or Tuesday of the last week — after I had already been without my only car for over six weeks, paid everything out of pocket, and rescheduled flights and plans. I told him I wasn’t interested in a rental at that point and asked for a reduction instead. He never said no. Then on pickup day he referenced the rental offer again in an email as if that was still a reasonable resolution. It wasn’t. I also asked weeks earlier if they could fix minor rim scratches as a goodwill gesture for the delays. Never happened. Zero proactive communication. A broken part during installation and they couldn’t pick up the phone. Excuses instead of honesty. A GM who makes vague verbal offers, never follows through, and hides behind policy when it’s time to make things right. Everyone I told this story to was shocked it took 45 days. Look at the photo and you’ll understand why.

You know, I don't think I've written these guys a review yet. But let me say how much I love 'em. I've got four Porsches that I've taken here. Most recently, they replaced some major PITA window weatherstripping on my 924S and a couple other rotting rubber body gaskets, sunroof seal, etc. Several weeks ago, some similar weatherstripping and a rear bumper cover repair on my 968 after my neighbor backed into it. GREAT match on the color, too! Earlier this year, they installed the "whale tail" on my '85 911, corrected some old paintwork coloring issues that were discovered, and repaired a door mirror on my Cayman when I cheese-grated a large bird through a small hole, leaving exploded bird all along the side of the car. These guys have been consistently great to work with, have done great work, and the prices are pretty reasonable. I find myself seeking other body work for them to do. The 968 is next up (again) for side rocker panels and front bumper issues.... My only issue with them? They really need a "Queen City" branded credit card line. Y'know, 18 months 0% interest financing sorta stuff... now that would be nice.... ;-)
