Drove from Connecticut for a coolant delete on my model S. Chose this over other east coast options as they have a more thorough coolant delete process that includes cleaning and bearing replacement . Apparently arrived in the knick of time as there was already extensive coolant intrusion and motor would have had catastrophic electronic failure any moment . Pete and Suzi were excellent from first call to the service. It’s clear they have expertise on these older Model S’s. Owner shared a firmware update Tesla provides that was so helpful. Sent pictures and let me directly observe the motor during the process. A fun vibe to the shop - they have interns from the local community college. Passionate about right to repair and are sharing their knowledge with other independent shops to build ev service network. Will drive the 12 hours again without hesitation if needed and highly recommend!

Service and communication-awesome! I wanted to switch my steering wheel to a yoke on a Model X and I’m 100% satisfied! Would definitely recommend! Thanks again

My 2017 Chevy Bolt started making a strange noise from underneath the car, and I initially thought it was a suspension issue. After having it diagnosed, I found out the problem was actually with the EV drive unit and that it needed to be replaced. The dealership quoted me around $8,000 for the repair, so I started looking for other options. I ended up finding Great Lakes EV and made the drive from Michigan to Ohio because they were the only shop I could find that specialized in the repair I needed. It was absolutely worth the trip. Not only was the cost less than half of what the dealership quoted, but their expertise really stood out. They were even able to retrofit a newer 2022 Bolt drive unit into my 2017 model. The repair took a little longer than expected, so I had to stay overnight, but the team worked tirelessly—even over a holiday weekend—to make sure everything was done right. Their knowledge, professionalism, and dedication to customer service were outstanding. If I ever have another major EV repair, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for honest, skilled EV specialists.

Outstanding service. They are super knowledgeable and do great work at reasonable prices. I had the LDU on my 2015 Model S serviced. They checked out the battery and replaced a faulty seal. And they fixed a faulty hinge on a door. I will definitely be back as I seek to continue driving my vehicle as long as is reasonable.
