Title: Disappointing Used Vehicle Delivery Experience — Lack of Transparency and Follow-Through I had a very disappointing experience with Tesla’s Houston delivery process for a used Model Y. In late November, I placed an order for a 2023 Model Y and repeatedly requested photos of the vehicle prior to driving over three hours to Houston for delivery. No photos were provided in advance. Prior to delivery, I was pressured through the Tesla app to submit full payment, despite Tesla’s online guidance indicating that customers can inspect the vehicle at delivery before accepting it. I relied on that guidance. Upon arrival, I found visible exterior swirl marks and paint damage that were not disclosed beforehand. When I raised concerns onsite, the response was dismissive and no meaningful solution was offered. I declined delivery and did not take possession of the vehicle. The delivery center itself felt disorganized and inattentive. The facility was not well maintained, staff appeared disengaged, and the overall experience felt transactional — as if customers were an inconvenience rather than the purpose of the visit. After declining delivery, communication through the Tesla app and email was extremely limited. I attempted to escalate these concerns multiple times but did not receive a clear or timely resolution. The refund process took nearly two weeks, during which I did not have confirmation that the full funds would be returned. During this period, my money remained tied up and comparable inventory I had been tracking became unavailable as market pricing shifted. A replacement option was eventually discussed, but by that point inventory and pricing had changed materially. Overall, the experience lacked transparency, responsiveness, and customer support — particularly given the travel required and the expectation of upfront payment. I’m sharing this so future buyers understand the importance of requesting full documentation and clarifying payment expectations before committing to travel or funds. Conclusion: buy used at your own risk. If you have an issue this facility nor the app or even management will support.
