My Tesla required replacement of the seat occupancy sensor again just over two years after it was replaced under warranty. I was informed this is a safety related component tied to airbag deployment, and repeated failure raises serious quality concerns. A safety critical part should not be failing every 2–3 years. Before approving the repair, I specifically asked for the part cost and was told it was much higher than what later appeared on the final invoice. The labor charges were 95% of the repair cost. This misrepresentation directly affected my decision to proceed and reflects poor transparency. I also requested goodwill coverage for this repeated failure, especially since the vehicle is just out of warranty. I was told this would be considered after inspection, but once the service was completed, the request was immediately denied. This felt like a bait and switch tactic designed to push service revenue rather than address a recurring defect. When I asked to use a previous service credit Tesla had offered me as compensation for a prior incident where this same service center damaged my brand new (1 month old) Model X Plaid (requiring a mirror replacement and repainting the entire passenger side) no one could confirm the credit’s existence or explain how to apply it. I was forced to just pay the invoice to retrieve my vehicle with no other recourse. I have also raised a separate safety concern: the vehicle can be placed into Drive without requiring operator override when a door is not fully closed. This resulted in damage to my vehicle, yet the service center refused to escalate the issue with tesla or consider repair. Across multiple visits, I have experienced a consistent pattern of dishonesty, lack of accountability, and unwillingness to address legitimate safety related concerns. The vehicles themselves have excellent technology and design, but the service experience at this location has been extremely disappointing. These repeated issues have genuinely made me reconsider purchasing future Tesla vehicles. Mobile service has been a completely different experience. Overall, this reflects poor transparency, inconsistent information, and a complete lack of accountability.

This place is awful, very, very unprofessional. I don’t even know how some of these people got hired at Tesla of Thousand Oaks service center. My experience there was genuinely one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. From the moment I dropped off my Model S, it felt like games were being played — advisors talking over me, going on hold mid-conversation like they were discussing something behind my back, giving vague and inconsistent answers. When I asked what was actually wrong with my car, nobody could give me a straight answer. It genuinely felt like they didn’t know what they were doing and were trying to figure it out as they went — and in the process, they ended up causing more damage to my car. The senior service manager, Jessica, was condescending and outright rude. Another advisor, Sydney, was no better — no accountability, no willingness to explain anything clearly. My car sat there for three weeks, and here’s the breakdown of what happened: • First, they said I needed a fuse replaced. I paid for it. • Then they said the fuse fix caused the compressor to blow. I paid for that too. • Then, after the compressor was replaced, they blew my 12-volt battery during their own diagnostic — a battery I had replaced brand new just one month earlier, from another Tesla dealership, and I have the receipt to prove it.

Came in for a battery change and cabin air filter change. I also expressed I needed them to run a diagnostic to see if anything else was wrong. They assured me they would do that and when they gave me back the car, they assured me everything else was working properly and I was good to go. The very next day, my car notified me that the cooling system wasn’t working so I have no AC in the summer in LA and have to wait a week to get serviced again. I have to drive without AC for a week in southern CA 😩

I leased my first Tesla in January/26. It is a Model Y. When I got it, the fabric in the hatch back was all full of white lint that wouldn’t come off. There was grease stains on the driver’s side door and drivers box compartment also. I mentioned this to the delivery person and he shrugged me off. I thought this was odd to have a new car delivered in that condition. After a month or so of trying to get the lint and grease stains out with no luck, I contacted Sean who is the area manager in Thousand Oaks. He was very kind and told me to bring the car in and they would take care of it. I was given a new fabric hatch replacement. They also detailed the inside of my car and got all the grease stains out. Sean was very professional and made sure everything was done correctly before I took the car. He followed up with me after to make sure all was still good. His customer service is excellent and it made this unfortunate incident very positive. It is a comfort to know Sean represents Tesla and is willing to take care of any problems that may arise.

Ugh, I hate giving bad reviews but unfortunately this place warrants it. I don't recommend bringing your Tesla here for service. I was charged a diagnostic fee for a problem they couldn't figure out. They refused to escalate the issue up the chain or to another service center. Instead I was still charged and with no outcome or resolution to the issue with my car. I called Tesla support which recommend I continue to open a service request with this service center since but they would either cancel my appointment or ignore my messages. Completely unprofessional
