Safelite AutoGlass

Booking an appointment online for Safelite to come to my house and repair a chipped windshield couldn’t have been easier. My technician, Hannah, arrived on time after notifying me she was on her way, and the repair was done within a half hour with perfect results. I prepaid online, and it was so easy. If only all companies could operate with this level of service!

This is one of the most infuriating businesses we’ve ever had the displeasure of working with. Simple scenario: my husband’s windshield is cracked, so he submits a ticket to have it fixed. Somehow they have attempted to replace his windshield three times and his windshield still isn’t fixed. On the first attempt, they did a home visit and broke the new windshield before even arriving. “No be deal,” we said, “accidents happen.” He has to wait another week to have another technician come out to the house. That Saturday arrives and the technician calls him much earlier than expected (around six thirty I believe) to confirm that he will be here shortly. My husband works night shift and this woke him up early, but he didn’t mind because he was happy the windshield was going to be repaired so quickly. THREE HOURS later my husband is still waiting for this technician to arrive. He calls safelite only to find out the technician called out of work while on his way over here. Once again, we were understanding because we know emergencies do happen. But it does beg the question: why did no one from safelite call him to inform us that the technician would not be coming today? I will give credit where it’s due. The employee that my husband spoke with on the phone was very apologetic about the whole situation and very kind. He told my husband that the easiest way to get your windshield replaced through them was actually to just come to the shop instead of scheduling a home visit. There was no availability for him to come to the shop until today (Thursday). Finally, my husband is going to get his windshield replaced in person at the shop. He takes his car over there this morning. Would you believe he comes back home without a new windshield? I didn’t. I thought he was joking. He tells me they broke the new windshield AGAIN. He tells me they offer to reschedule him AGAIN. THIS WILL BE THE FOURTH TIME. We only used safelite because it’s easier to use with our auto insurance, but I really wished we hadn’t. While everyone we’ve spoken to has been professional and kind, there is only so many times a company can attempt to replace a windshield and fail before I start questioning their competency. Maybe we’re just unlucky and this is a one off odd experience that only we’ve suffered, but I would not recommend using safelite to anyone but my enemies.

Dwight did an amazing job replacing my windshield. He was very prompt, arriving before the time on the text, very friendly, courteous, informative, and handled business. It was very convenient because of the mobile services. I highly recommend.

First technician came out when it was lightly raining. Kept giving excuses as to why he couldnt install the window. He finally apologized and admitted he just didnt want to work in the rain (truck is under a large carport) He then installed back glass over 1/4" out of square. Left glue overflowing around the edges. Left a ton of broken glass under the truck and under my carport. I scheduled a warranty claim for Safelite to fix their mistakes (appt was today between 12pm-5pm) and they didnt even show up! At 6pm the call rep stated that they couldn't reach the tech over phone and that the work was still scheduled. Still never showed. At this point im needing a full refund to pay someone thatll actually show up and install my glass correctly. Completely unprofessional.

Eddie arrived on time as promised. He was extremely professional. He completed the job within the time frame specified. The windshield is so clear, I’m scared a bird may fly straight through it. Thanks Eddie and Safelight!
